The purpose of the first project "Ecology of the Human Psychology"
(04.2001-11.2001) financed by The Ministry of Ecology from Moldova was to study
the Evolution and State of mental health of the population from Chisinau. According
of this project was organized a scientific conference. The participants to this
conference made up an Appeal addressed to Prim Minister and Mayer of Chisinau,
which stipulated their opinions about the State and Evolution of mental health
of the population from Chisinau and the measures to improve it. Conception of
the Ecology of Human Psychology was drawn out and proved for the first time
in the practice and science of the general ecology - as a component part of
human and general ecology. Also, for the first time was published in Republic
of Moldova a book with the topic "Ecology of Human Psychology", which
contains the opinions and results of researches made by specialists from different
fields regarding the Ecology and Protection of Human Psychology. The ProUMAN
- Moldova Canter realized in the period 06.2001-10.2001 a project financed by
Government of USA with the topic "Promotion of Human Rights of Persons
with Psychic Disorders". Within the framework of this Project took place
the following activities:
" Translation into Romanian and Publishing of the book "Guidelines
For The Promotion Of Human Rights Of Persons With Mental Disorders", Geneva,
1996;
" Translation into Romanian and Publishing of the book "Best Practices
In Psychosocial Rehabilitation", Columbia, 2000;
" Translation into Romanian and Publishing of the book "Quality Assurance
In Mental Health Care", volume I & II, Geneva, 1994
" Publishing of the guide book "Equal among Equals" (extracted
from The International and National Legislation regarding the Promotion of Human
Rights of Persons with Psychic Disorders)
" Organization of a scientific Conference with the topic "Equal among
Equals", in which was held a Report of Director of ProUMAN Center Moldova
regarding Promotion of Human Rights of Persons with Psychic Disorders in Republic
of Moldova.
A project, financed by Soros Foundation-Moldova, is put in accomplishment now.
Its name is "Integration of persons with mental disorders in family and
society" (05.2001-06.2002) As direct beneficiaries of this project were
selected patients with chronic paranoid Schizophrenia, psychic and social disorders
of whom start and worsen evolution of mental disease. These are the primary
causes, which disturb the process of integration of these persons in family
and society. The accomplishment of the project and the implementation of it
reduce the manifestation of psychic-chronic disturbances and grows the mental
health level contribute to the recover of the persons with a mental and chronic
handicap in their family and society enlargement of their responsibilities,
self-estimation of own value, teaching the measures of compensation of psychical
disturbances effects and engagement into certain work. Within the framework
of this project the Centre ProUMAN Moldova during a year performs a training
of 12 practitioners, specializing them in the field of implementation of same
new ways psychosocial recovering, which needs an installation of new relation
practitioner-beneficiary.
Achievements of the project were reflected within the framework of Science-practice
Conference with main titles " Human Integration " also was published
the book with the same title. Participants of Conference appealed to the President
of Moldova with request in supporting in organization in Chishinau (capital
of Moldova) a Centre Sciense-practic of Research, Protection and public Assistance
of mental health.
Now Centre ProUMAN Moldova implements the second part of the project "
Integration of persons with mental disorders in family and society (08.2002-07.2003).
The major activities will focus on practical achievement of different social
services (social supporting at home, family counselling, supporting in cases
of crises, juridical support etc).
About 300 patients suffering with schizophrenia and other mental disorders,
benefited by project's implementation, mentioned above, during the last 2 years.
As the organisers of this project, in the same period of time, were attracting
the persons of science and practise from different domains: psychiatry, psychology,
psychophysiology, sociology and human rights, altogether 200 persons.
